BT implements and manages end-to-end information systems for PSNI

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has experienced massive change and this is particularly true in the area of information technology.

To realise its vision of remaining at the forefront of intelligence-led policing, the

PSNI engaged with BT to implement end-to-end information systems.

In a multi-million pound deal, BT provided Exchange 2000 messaging to serve 10,000 users.  Included in this was an impressive corporate intranet that will keep staff up-to date with crucial corporate information whilst a public website gives access to information concerning policing and the community.

In addition to providing core desktop productivity tools, the data storage needs of the PSNI were also addressed as part of the project. Over one million documents will be archived and can be retrieved electronically.

BT manage this entire solution to service levels agreed with PSNI and also provide full training for all 14,000 system users.
